Excerpt from Blog post on

At first glance, it struck me as a highly original, intriguing concept—a book on the art and history of the goalie mask. What hockey fan doesn’t love anything and everything connected with goalies? New copies were unavailable, so I assumed the book was out of print. Then I saw what used copies were selling for. (Let’s just say it was well above the book’s retail price).

A quick search gave me author Jim Hynes’s email address. Jim confirmed that the book was indeed out of print, and after a few more emails, put me in touch with Jim McRae of Griffintown Media. Jim M. was kind enough to send me a copy from his stash.

As soon as I saw it, I knew that I wanted the book for the Sports Publishing list, and that it would fit in perfectly.

Not only were the photographs absolutely beautiful—museum-quality images in full-color—but the content was first rate. My sales and marketing colleagues agreed.”
